VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of William Guillory, Sr., 88, announces his passing on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his residence after a short illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Father Jason Vidrine as celebrant.
Mr. Guillory was a United States WWII Navy Veteran, having enlisted at the age of 17 and witnessed the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, William will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Verna Soileau Guillory, sons, Dr. William R. Guillory Jr. of Lafayette, Stephen L. Guillory of Lafayette, daughter, June Guillory Inhern of Washington and sister, Bernita Guillory of Shreveport. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his 7 grandchildren: Alyce Inhern Chachere and husband Nick, Jean-Paul Inhern and wife Sheree, Ann Marie Inhern LaFleur and husband Justin, Philippe Inhern and wife Andree, Blaire E. Guillory Bobo and husband Taylor, Samantha Guillory, Andrew Paul Guillory and his 8 great grandchildren.
William will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Laurent and Pearl Guillory, brother, James G. Guillory, sister, Helen Grace Cedatol and grandchildren, William Matthew Guillory, Adam Michael Guillory and Stephen Ross Guillory.
At the request of the Guillory family, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11 AM until 9 PM and will reopen on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 8 AM until time of services. A Catholic Daughters and Come Lord Jesus rosary will be recited in Mr. Guillory's honor on Tuesday June 30, 2015 at 5 PM followed by another rosary at 6 PM.
Arrangements are entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte, La.
