Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Wallace Fontenot, 91 announces his passing on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Fr. Gene Tremie Celebrant.

Wallace, having retired from Cabot will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ernestine Landreneau Fontenot of Ville Platte; two sons, Dr. Robert Fontenot and wife, Mary Jo of Walla Walla, Wa., Dr. Peter Fontenot and wife, Jackie of Ville Platte; three daughters, Gloria Cifreo and husband, Preston of Metairie, Beth Morein and husband, Don of Ville Platte, and Peggy Farraro of Lake Charles; one brother, Willard Fontenot of Ville Platte; one sister, Louella Duplechain of Ville Platte; eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fergus and Catherine Fusilier Fontenot.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Sunday, June 21, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
