VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Viola Reed, 89, announces her passing on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 28 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church at 3:00 PM. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Oberlin with Fr. Mitchell Guidry celebrant.
A loving mother, sister, and grandmother, Viola will be greatly missed by her daughter Sally Baquet of Ville Platte and her sisters Vidalia Wills of Pollock and Alpha Chadick of Slidell. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren: Robert Baquet, Jennifer Fontenot and husband Cody, Eric Baquet and wife Sarah, and Kevin Baquet and ten great grandchildren.
She now rests with her husband R. Solomon Reed Sr., parents Lunus and Sallie Quave, son R. Solomon Reed, Jr., brother Hillard Quave, sisters Mildred Lindsey and Audre Shaw, and granddaughter Katie Reed.
At the request of the Reed family, a visitation will take place at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Sunday, March 27, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Monday, March 28 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed in Viola's honor Sunday evening at 6:30 PM.
