Tommy Phillip Soileau

August 20, 1960 — April 14, 2024

Tommy Phillip Soileau, age 63, son of Nolan and Emma Joyce Soileau, was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana on August 20, 1960. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at his residence in Carencro, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Tommy was blessed with a loving family. He met his wife, Melanie Ann Meyer, while in high school and later married on February 9, 1980. Their romance lasted all 44 years and was blessed with two wonderful children and five grandchildren.

However, above all else, Tommy cherished moments spent with his family and children. His dedication to his loved ones was unwavering, evident in the sparkle in his eye whenever they were near. Fishing, hunting, and sports is where he found peace in the great outdoors. Tommy lived vicariously through his grandchildren by teaching them to fish. They brought him so much joy and happiness. Being a grandpa came naturally to him. Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family, and he loved them very much.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie Meyer Soileau of Ville Platte; his children, Nicole and husband, Kenneth of Lafayette, La., and Brittany and husband, Nestor of Temple, Texas; five grandchildren, Alexis, Kaylie, Bethani Granger, and Brayden and Addalynn Marin; his sister, Laura Prejean of Arkansas and his brother, Paul Fontenot of Redell, LA.

Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Nolan Soileau; his mother, Emma Joyce Soileau; sister, Martha Jean Soileau, and brother, James Lenus Soileau.

Tommy lost his battle after suffering for 20+ years with health problems. His family wishes to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff Hospice of Acadian.
