VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma D. Ortego, 97, announces her passing on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Gene Tremie celebrant.

A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Sandra O. Vidrine and husband Sebastien and Linda O. Buller and husband Charles all of Ville Platte, twelve grandchildren, and twenty-three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Ortego, her parents, Erole and Lydia Lafleur Deville, her son, John Kern Ortego, her brother Dolsey Deville, and her sister Maise D. Foret.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Monday, July 6, 2009 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Monday evening.
