VILLE PLATTEIt is with heavy hearts that the family of Sylvester J. Lavergne, 68, announces his passing on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his home with his loved ones at his side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Eternal Rest Cemetery with Fr. Mitchell Guidry as Celebrant.

A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Sylvester leaves behind his wife of fortysix years, Mary Lavergne of Ville Platte son, Dwayne Lavergne of Ville Platte daughter, Tammy L. Jorden of Ville Platte sister, Sue Lavergne Chapman four grandchildren, Alicia Vasseur, Amber Miller, Tyler Lavergne, and Alia Jorden two great grandchildren, Hayden Vasseur and William Cooper Vasseur.

Sylvester is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gilbert and Lena Jagneaux Lavergne brother, Golden Lavergne sisters, Goldie Lavergne Comeaux and Mathilda Lavergne Castille.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 8:00 AM until time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Thursday evening.
