Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Steve Jones, Jr., 82, will be held Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 1pm at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Chatham Cemetery in Chatham, La. Monday at 11am.

Mr. Jones, a resident of Ville Platte, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at his residence following a long illness. He enjoyed eating crawfish with his grandkids as well as spending quality time with them and taking them to various places. He was also an outdoors person who loved working in his yard. As a veteran of the United State Army he served in World War II.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather he is survived by his wife, Wavey Jones of Ville Platte; a son, James E. Jones of Monroe; a daughter, Beverly Jones of Orange, Tx; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve Jones and Hettie Milner Jones; two brothers, Eugene Jones and Charles Jones; and two sisters, Grace Jones Willhite and Joycelyn Jones Smith.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 11am until 9pm and on Sunday from 8am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Saturday.
