VILLE PLATTE- Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial for Steve "Muzz" A. Fontenot, 69, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church on Monday, September, 11, 2017, who passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Opelousas General Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Father Taj Glodd, Associate Pastor at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be celebrating the mass and conducting the funeral services.

Entombment will take place in Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Muzz was a longtime educator. He spent 31 years serving as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Muzz also served as Director of Transportation for Evangeline Parish School Board for several years. He loved hunting, fishing, outdoor sports, and spending time with his family. Muzz was an avid LSU fan.

His memories will live on through his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Brenda F. Fontenot; daughter, Christy F. Fusilier and husband John of Ville Platte; son, Jeffery Paul Fontenot of Ville Platte; granddaughter, Alaina Fontenot; step-grandchildren, Sadie Fusilier, Eric Fusilier and wife Alexis, and Maggie Fusilier; step great-grandchildren, Tristin and Madelyn Fontenot; brother, Terry Fontenot and wife Mona of Lafayette, and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Muzz is preceeded in death by his parents Muslin and Luna Fontenot and niece Terri-Faith Fontenot.

The family request that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
