Ville Platte Funeral services for Stanley T. Masaki, 71, will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 1 pm in Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery. Rev. Ervin Goodman will officiate the services.

A resident of Ville Platte, native of Hawaii, Mr. Masaki died Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. He served in the United States Army for fourteen years and while serving he fought in the Vietnam War.

A loving husband, son, father, grandfather and brother he is survived by his wife, Yvonne C. Masaki of Ville Platte; mother, Yaeko Masaki of Hawaii; two daughters, Alessia Russell of Boyce and Stephanie Darlene Johnson of Bayou Chicot; two brothers, Richard and Ken Masaki of Hawaii; three sisters, Margaret Woodford of Hawaii, Janet Hughes of Denver, Co., and Jane Simers of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Sarah Richey, Zachary Oliver, Andrew Russell, Preston Cason, Marlayna Cason, Rachel Cason and Kathy Russell.

Family request that visiting hours be observed Monday, November 10, 2008 from 5 pm until 10pm and on Tuesday from 8am until time of services.
