Shirley Ann Vidrine

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved, Shirley Ann Vidrine on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on October 18, 1938, in Whiteville, LA. She was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Belaire Cove Chapel. Father Alex Lancon will serve as Celebrant over the services.

Shirley's life was one of selfless dedication, serving as an administrative professional in the non-profit sector, notably as a devoted meal coordinator at Meals on Wheels. Her compassionate spirit and genuine caring nature touched the lives of many in her community, particularly the elderly whom she supported and comforted with unwavering kindness.

Her warm and kind-hearted nature endeared her to all who knew her. Shirley's infectious love for life filled every room she entered, and she leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured.

Shirley’s unwavering love for her family, and her dedication to serving others. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were touched by her presence. Shirley will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Sittig Brown (Kenneth); her sons, Christopher Vidrine (Becky) and Daniel P. Vidrine (Letiticia); her sixteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and her two sisters, Mary Nell Mire and Linda Blood.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Earlis P. Vidrine; her parents, Nolan and Edith Vidrine; her brothers, Mervin Vidrine and Ferrell Vidrine; her daughter, Peggy Hudspeth; her son, Philip Vidrine; her grandsons, Brady and Jacob Hudspeth and her son-in-law, Dale Sittig.

At the request of the family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, July 22, 2024, beginning at 8:30 am until the time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 1:15 pm by Father Alex Lancon.
