VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Seraphine "Joe" Guillotte, age 94, announces his passing on Sunday, October 23, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Father Mitchell Guidry officiating services.
At the request of the family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte Monday, October 24 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM and again on Tuesday, October 25 from 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed in his honor Monday evening at 7:00 PM.
A loving father, brother, and grandfather, Joe will be greatly missed by his two daughters: Caresse Fusilier and husband Danny of Bayou Chicot and Voncille Fontenot and husband Charles Ray of Ville Platte, one brother Warren Guillotte of New Iberia, and eight grandchildren: Nicole Marcantel, Ryan Fusilier, Danielle Fusilier, Robin Laughlin, Brock Fontenot and wife Lauren, Blaine Fontenot and wife Jenna, Brett Fontenot and wife Lauren, and Brandon Fontenot.
Also left behind to cherish his memory are his 13 great grandchildren: Brittney Marcantel, Matt Marcantel, Ashley Hamous, Landon Fontenot, Owen Fontenot, Maddox Fontenot, Kennedy Fontenot, Lilly Fusilier, Reagan Vidrine, Tyler Foret, Jaslyn Foret, Meagan Foret, and Mayce Vidrine and his five great great grandchildren.
He now rests with his parents Louis and Ella Guillotte, his wife Ethelyne Fontenot Guillotte, and his son Voorhies Joseph Guillotte.
