Ville Platte It is great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Sarah Thomas announces her passing on Monday, October 25, 2010 at the age of 92. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Ville Platte with Fr. Mario Romero Celebrant.
Sarah taught in the Evangeline Parish School System for 35 years. She was also active in the community as a member of Catholic Daughters and decorated Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church for 20 years, and was also a past board member of the Louisiana Cotton Festival Association.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Sarah will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 69 years, Eli D. Thomas of Ville Platte a son, Coach Allen Thomas of Bordelonville a daughter, Sarah Madalyn Foret of Luling thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She now rests in Heaven with her two sons, John B. Thomas and Eli Dobby Thomas,IV and her parents, Chester A. and Rosa Thompson.
At the request of the family visiting hours will be observed Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.
