VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Ruby Ortego, 86, announces her passing on Monday, September 07, 2009 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at

10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Fr. Gene Tremie Celebrant.

A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Ruby will be lovingly missed by her husband, Herman Ortego of Ville Platte, her son, Glenn Ortego and wife Geraldine of Carencro, two brothers Wallace Tate and Leo Tate both of Ville Platte, two sisters Annie Richard of Ville Platte and Winnie Nicks of Kelgor, Texas, four grandchildren Mitchell Prudhomme, Heather Bourque, Ashley Fontenot, and Rebecca Ortego, and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Aline Tate, Sr. and her daughter, Brenda O. Prudhomme.

The family request visiting hours be observed Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 5:00 pm until 9:30 pm and again on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
