Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Ruby Martin, 86 announces her passing on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the B.J. Fontenot Cemetery with Fr. Sensat officiating.
A verse that will be remembered by her family is Proverbs 31 Verse 28 Her children rise up and call her blessed. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Ruby will be lovingly by her son George Martin, Jr. and his wife, Madeline of Auburn, Al four daughters, Barbara Martin Fasullo of Baton Rouge, Edna Martin Oge of Dallas, Tx, Brenda Martin Demoruelle and husband, Don of Ville Platte, and Melissa Martin Gibson and husband, Kim of Ville Platte two brothers, Tillman Melancon and Burgess Melancon both of Opelousas one sister, Norma Melancon Roten and husband, Dave of Shreiver, La twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Martin, Sr. and parents, Clifford and Adele Melancon.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, April 1, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
