VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ruby Gautreaux Duos, 95, announces her passing on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 18 at 3:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will take place in the Gates of Heaven Mausoleum with Fr. Mitchell Guidry officiating services.
Ruby was the last living member of the first graduating class of Vidrine High School of 1938.
A loving mother and grandmother, Ruby will be greatly missed by her three daughters: Sharon Kay Soileau and husband Donald Ray of Ville Platte, Stephanie Fontenot and husband Herbert "Butch" also of Ville Platte, and Phyllis Ortego of Reddell. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She now rests with her husband Elvin Duos, parents Alex and Moize McCauley Gautreaux, brother Calwood Gautreaux, sister Lula G. Fontenot and son-in-law Charles Ray Ortego.
At the request of the Duos family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte beginning at 9:00 AM on Monday, April 18 until time of service. A rosary will be prayed in her honor at 2:30 PM on Monday.
