VILLE PLATTEIt is with great sadness that the family of Rosamary Ortego Powers, 83, announces her passing on Wednesday March 9, 2011 at Rest Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lake Charles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10 A.M. at St. Peters Catholic Church in Pine Prairie. Rite of Committal will follow at the St. Peters Cemetery with Father Richard Broussard as Celebrant.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Rosamary will be loving remembered by one son, James W. Powers Jr. and wife Theresa of Lake Charles, one daughter, Carolyn Sue Duplantis and husband Albert of Lake Charles, four grandchildren, Michele Duplantis, Amanda Powers, John Powers and Sarah Powers and two great grandchildren, Gavyn Duplantis and Gilbert Dominguez.
She now joins in Heaven her husband, J. W. Powers and her parents, ONeil and Anea Ortego.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Friday, March 11, 2011 from 2 P.M. until 9 P.M. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 6 P.M. Visiting hours will resume at 8 A.M. Saturday, March 12, 2011 until time of service.
