Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Rogers Chapman, 77, will be held Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Belaire Cove Cemetery. Fr. Joshua Guillory will officiate the services.

Mr. Chapman, a resident of Ville Platte, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in Savoy Medical Center at 3pm. He had a passion for Cajun music having played at many festivals over the years. He also a veteran of the Korean War while served in U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Eula Mae Soileau Chapman of Ville Platte; one son, Gary Russell of Louisiana; four step sons, Andrew McDaniel, Jr. of Tate Cove, Richard Lee McDaniel, Donald Ray McDaniel, and Barry McDaniel all of Ville Platte; one step daughter, Sandra McDaniel of Ville Platte; three sisters, Norma Joubert of Belaire Cove, Hazie Chapman of Ville Platte, and Eva Nell Soileau of Ville Platte; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son, Keith Fontenot and a step son, David McDaniel.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 10am until 10pm and on Friday from 8am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Thursday.
