VILLE PLATTE = Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Sunday, January 31, 2021 for Rod David Briley, 60, who passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 in Ville Platte.

Deacon Ben Soileau will conduct services.

Rod David Briley was born in Ville Platte on September 11, 1960 to Anthony and Sherry Briley.  He was an overseas welder by trade and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking with friends when not at work. Rod’s greatest joy was that of spending time with his family.  This hard working, loving man will be greatly missed by his family and friends and his memory will be cherished always.

Rod is survived by his wife of 12 years,  Dolores Ann Godeaux Briley of Ville Platte; five sons, Seth Briley and wife, Scarlett of Bayou Chicot, Brandon Duos and wife, Fely of Lake Charles, John Godeaux, Issa Aghabi, and Mitchell Godeaux; one daughter, Ashley Landreneau and husband, Marcus of Bayou Chicot; and eight grandchildren, Johna Paul Godeaux, Terrel Wayne Godeaux, Hanna Maire Godeaux, Harper Virginia Landreneau, Reid Blaine Landreneau, Luckett John Briley, Fisher Hoyt Briley, and Ivy Ray Aghabi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Sherry Fontenot Briley; brother, Anthony Rick Briley; grandsons, Tait Charles Landreneau and Jon-Adam Landreneau; and granddaughter, Mercy Rose Landreneau.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm.
