VILLE PLATTE It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert Bob Causey announces his passing on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Opelousas General Hospital. He was 64. A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at 10:30 am Friday, July 27, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in Bayou Chicot. Burial will follow in the Vandenburg Cemetery with Pastor Roger Whittington officiating.

Robert known as Bob to all who knew him served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard. He retired after 27 years with the St. Landry Parish School Board. Coaching was his life, along with his love for his family, and he was known by everyone as Coach Causey.

He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving wife of 16 years, Genny Causey of Port Barre two sons, Robert Causey and wife, Amy of Katy, TX, and Dane Mengarelli of Lafayette three daughters, Leslie Newman and husband, Reid of Columbus, OH, Melody Rodney of Corpus Christi, TX, and Bria Majors and husband, Anthony of Satsuma sister, Lillian Jo Edwards and husband, Keith of Bayou Chicot father inlaw and best friend, Leroy Leger of Port Barre four grandchildren, Jacob Newman, Luke Newman, Kaitlyn Causey, and Austin Causey and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family. Bob will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Andrew and Essie Deville Causey.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Bayou Chicot on Thursday, July 26th from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Friday, July 27st from 8:00 am until time of services.
