PINE PRAIRIE A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Peters Catholic Church in Pine Prairie for Rita Gayle Fontenot Walker, 64, a retired administrator from Huey P. Long Hospital passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008 at Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery with Father Richard Broussard Celebrant.

A loving daughter, mother, grandmother and sister, Rita is survived by her father, Ruston Fontenot of Pine Prairie; two daughters, Monica Stark and son in law, Billy Stark of Jacksonville TX. And Sharon Nelams of Jacksonville, TX.; two brothers, Ronald Fontenot and wife, Deborah of Pine Prairie and Darrell Kent Fontenot and wife, Sarah of Kinder; four grandchildren, Jennifer stark Poynter, Aimee Gagneux, Amanda Saylor and Jonathon Saylor; and two great grandchildren, Chloe and Abigail Poynter. Forever In A Day, We Love You Mom.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nazel McDaniel Fontenot.

The family request that visitation be held at St. Peters Catholic Church in Pine Prairie and visiting hours be observed on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Monday from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Sunday evening.
