Ella Rae Maggio

A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Ella Rae Maggio at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte, followed by burial at the Fontenot Cemetery on Tate Cove Road.  Father Alex Lancon will be the officiant for all services.

Ella passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Mercy Regional Hospital at the age of 80.  She was a devoted homemaker who loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed reading and completing crossword puzzles. Ella also enjoyed keeping herself fit at the Wellness Center.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas Maggio; son, Joe Maggio and wife, Pam; daughter, Anna Rose and husband, Wayne; grandchildren: Kimberly Lacour and husband, Shane, Lauren Rose, Brian Maggio, Wendy Maggio, Matthew Maggio; and three great-grandchildren: Andrew Lacour, Aiden Lacour, and Ashton Lacour.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Dallas and Anna Mae Deshotel.

At the request of the family, a visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte, Louisiana from 8:30 AM until dismissal at 12:45 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM.
