It is with great sadness that the family of Ray D. Bridges, 94, announces his passing on March 30, 2011 at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 12:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Father Romero as Celebrant.
Mr. Bridges was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be lovingly remembered by his son, Barney Ray Bridges and his wife Monk of Lake Charles, his daughter Linda Kay Castille and her husband Bill of Lake Charles, his four grandchildren Bart Bridges, Allison Lusk, Melysa Austin and Lenzi Colson. Mr. Bridges also leaves behind nine great grandchildren.
He retired from Conoco after fortythree years of dedicated service. Mr. Bridges was very involved in his adopted community of Ville Platte he was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus, he shared ownership of the Sportsman Lodge for many years, he served as Manager of Ville Platte Pirates during their existence and he also raised the first seventyfive dollars for the Ville Platte Childrens League.
He now joins in Heaven his beloved wife, Bonita F. Bridges, his parents Andrew and Minnie Bridges and his four sisters and three brothers. He will be welcomed by all.
The pallbearers will be as follows Keaton Clark, Bart Bridges, Gary Aultman, Lee Burt Ardoin, Herman Doesher, Ivy Estilette and honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Perridon.
The Bridges family request that visiting hours be observed Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 10:00 AM until time of services.
