ST. LANDRY-Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Pine Prairie on Monday, February 11, 2019, for Philip A. Siffert, 55, who passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 in Houston, TX surrounded by his loved ones.
Father Kenneth Mayne, Pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.
Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville, LA.
Philip A. Siffert was born in Ville Platte, LA on August 8, 1963 to Vernon and Neva Guillory Siffert. Philip was very involved in his community having served on the Ward 5 Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He was known for his kind, giving, and selfless ways. Philip was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Philip will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Jan M. Siffert; son, Larry "Jamie" Smith and wife Michelle of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren, Keith A. Humphries of Cassatt, SC, Alex Smith, Will Smith and Erin Smith all of Pensacola, FL; sister, Anna Moran; brothers, Mark Siffert and wife Tina of St. Landry and Jacques Siffert of Metarie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Neva Guillory Siffert; and step daughter, Melissa Humphries.
The family requests that visitation be observed at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Pine Prairie on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Father Kenneth Mayne 6:00 PM on Sunday. Visitation will resume on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
Pall bearers are Brad Siffert, Matt Siffert, Adam Hirchak, Thomas Hirchak, Andrew Hirchak, and Lee Mathews.
Honorary Pallbearers are Donald Hirchak, Paul Mathews, Clifton "Tiny" Fontenot, Tom Thevenot, Keith Boudreaux, Melvin Cody, Jr., Keith Siffert, Andrew Siffert, and Ward 5 Volunteer Fire Department.
