Pauline LeBas LeCoq

November 7, 1966 — April 30, 2024

Pauline LeBas LeCoq, a lifelong resident of Ville Platte, LA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 57. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.

Pauline was known throughout town for her dedication to caring for children. She spent many years babysitting in her home. She would jokingly say she took on the task of potty-training half the town of Ville Platte. Her patience and kindness left a lasting impact on the families whose children she cared for.

Described as a loving and devout Catholic, Pauline had a strong faith and prayed the Rosary every day. She cherished her family above all else and found joy in spending time with them. In her moments of relaxation, she enjoyed watching action and thriller movies and getting lost in the gripping stories penned by one of her favorite authors, John Grisham.

In addition to her caregiving role, Pauline had a passion for fishing at Chicot State Park and Dubuisson Lake. These serene moments spent by the water brought her great happiness and tranquility.

In recent years, Pauline took great pride in her role as President of the Residents Council at the Village de Memoire. She also enjoyed playing bingo and her weekly card games with her friends.

Pauline will be deeply missed by her children, Sophie LeCoq Lafleur and husband, Holden of Point Blue, and William Cole LeCoq and wife, Bobbi of Lafayette; the father of her children, Bill LeCoq; her grandchildren, Cain, Brynna, Robert Ellis, Joseph Luke, and Annelise. Also left to cherish her memories are her brothers, Henry LeBas, Claude LeBas and Jules LeBas and her sister, Louisa LeBas.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Cecil LeBas and Janet Guillaumin LeBas of Ville Platte, whom she will be laid to rest with.

At the family’s request, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m.
