Ville PlatteIt is with great sadness that the family of Paula Kay Sylvester, 46, announces her passing on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in Houston, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Vandenburg Cemetery in Bayou Chicot, with Father Clinton Sensat as Celebrant.
She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and proud grandmother. Paula will be lovingly remembered by her husband of seventeen years, Ted Sylvester of Ville Platte, her two sons, Dustin Fontenot of Baton Rouge and Tyler Fontenot of Ville Platte, her two daughters, Katie Fontenot of Bayou Chicot and Erin Sylvester of Ville Platte. She also leaves behind her mother, Lana Compton of Bayou Chicot, her sister, Wendy Soileau and her husband Tim of Ville Platte, her brother, Jason Compton and his wife Mona of Pine Prairie. Paula also leaves behind the light of her life her granddaughter, Marlee Simon of Bayou Chicot. She will be missed by numerous family members and friends. Paula lived each day to its fullest she enjoyed gardening and horseback riding but her greatest gift and love, were the people she encountered every day Paula considered no one a stranger.
She now joins in Heaven, her beloved father, Tommy Compton.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Friday, May 6, 2011, from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM, reopening Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 8:00 AM until time of services.
A Rosary will be recited Friday, May 6, 2011 at 6:30 PM.
