Patrick “Pat” Addie Guillory, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the age of 72 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Born on August 4,1952, in Ville Platte, Pat’s life was filled with love, faith, and community service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with entombment to follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Father Tom Voorhies officiating services..
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, where he exemplified bravery and dedication. He dedicated much of his career to being an automobile paint and body professional, demonstrating a work ethic that mirrored his diligent and caring nature.
Pat was a man of many passions, he found joy in golfing especially at the Ville Platte Country Club, fishing, hunting, and gardening. His enthusiasm extended to cheering on his favorite teams, the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, showcasing his spirited personality. Known for his unwavering happiness and strong Catholic faith, he touched the lives of those around him with his infectious smile and kind heart.
Pat was not only devoted to his family but also to his community. Some of his proudest accomplishments were serving as Commander of the VFW Post 3803, being an active member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), and the Knights of Columbus. His commitment to service enriched not only his life but also the lives of many others, as he coached Dixie Youth Baseball for 9 years and also umpired local games.
Above all, Pat cherished his role as a family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Paula Ritter Guillory, and his son, Patrick Shane Guillory. Additionally, he cherished his niece, Leslie Morales (Jeremy), whom he loved like a daughter. He was lovingly referred to as "Poppie" by his three grandchildren, Brycelon, Brennon, and Logan Guillory as well as by his three special little ones, Ava, Sawyer, and Colt Morales. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his siblings, Ronella Fontenot, Linda Lou Fontenot, Rose Anna Guillory , and Louis J. ”LJ” Guillory; his brothers-in-law, Donnie (Kay), Craig, Bo, and Chad (Lisa) Ritter; sisters-in-law, Kelli (Lucas) Buller, Linda Ritter, and Phylis Lafleur; numerous nieces and nephews; and very close family friend, Rachel Doughetry.
Pat now joins in Heaven his parents, Addie and Lelia Soileau Guillory and extended family members, Henry, Bonnie, Charles, Peggy, and Pris Ritter and Leon and John Fontenot.
Family and friends will gather to share fond memories of Pat on TUESDAY, September 10, 2024, at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte, Louisiana, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary,being led by Deacon Ben Soileau, at 5:00 PM. Pat's legacy of love, faith, and service will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. His contributions to family, community, and country will never be forgotten.
