Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Oswell LeDoux, 93, announces his passing on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Ville Platte with Fr. Gene Tremie Celebrant.

Oswell will be rememebered as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1754, a past board member of the Council on Aging, and was owner and proprietor of O. LeDoux General Store in Ville Platte for over 40 years. Oswell will be lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Glenn Wilks of Ville Platte; one brother, Theo LeDoux of Opelousas; seven grandchildren, Scott McDaniel, Darren McDaniel, Dana Docherty, Laurie Brassette, Kaleh Gaudin, Ellen Gauthier, and Eric LeDoux, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae S. LeDoux, parents, Eddie T. and Pearl LeDoux; a son, Paul Dunn LeDoux; and a grandson, Paul Dunn LeDoux II.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 7:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
