Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Orise J. Fontenot, 87 will be held Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 11:30am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery. Fr. Gene Tremie will officiate the services.

Mr. Fontenot, a native and resident of Ville Platte, died Thursday, April 12, 2007 in Ville Platte Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a World War II veteran. He was an usher for Sacred Heart Catholic Church and loved woodworking and gardening. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruby F. Fontenot; three sons, Donald L. Fontenot and wife, Verline of Breaux Bridge, Wendell Fontenot and wife, Sherril, Jody Fontenot and wife, Lisa of Ville Platte; one daughter, Andrea Fontenot Henderson and husband, Samuel of Oakdale; one sister, Louella Fontenot and husband, Leerance of Elizabeth; ten grandchildren, Tina Fontenot, Toby Fontenot, Rebecca Hartwell, Shane Fontenot, Jason Henderson, Samantha Henderson, Nicklos Fontenot, Ryan Fontenot, Tiffany Fontenot, and Emily Fontenot; seven great grandchildren, Meghan, Miguel, Katie Lynn, Christian James, Katie, Zachary, and Trinity; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 2:30pm until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Friday.

Pallbearers will be Jason Henderson, Shane Fontenot, Nicklos Fontenot, Ryan Fontenot, James Hartwell, and John E. Ortego.
