Ville Platte The children of Ollie Sylvester Ardoin mournfully announce the passing of their mother on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Opelousas General Hospital at the age of 93. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Fr. Gene Tremie Celebrant.
Ollie was a beautician for 57 years and active in Catholic Daughters of America and Come Lord Jesus Rosary Group but above all she was a wonderful wife and homemaker and devoted to her family. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Dr. Ted Ardoin, and his wife, Deborah of Ville Platte her two daughters, Shirline Ardoin Taylor and her husband, Doug of Manassas, Va. and Pat Ardoin Claiborne and her husband, Chip of Houston, Tx. one sister, Bonnie Sylvester Manuel and her husband, Irving of Lafayette nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Lionel Ardoin parents, Lawrence and Beatrice Dupre Sylvester one brother, Percy Sylvester and two sisters, Ola Sylvester Guillory and Rose Sylvester Dupre.
At the request of the family visitation will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, December 24, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
