VILLE PLATTE- Ola Marie Thomas passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Fleurdleys Assisted Living in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 86.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 12 PM in the Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Vandenburg Cemetery with Pastor Roger Whittington officiating services.

A visitation for Ola will be on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home from 6 PM until 8 PM and will resume Friday morning at 10 AM.

Ola retired from the Evangeline Parish School Board after a dedicated 42 years of teaching. She was a Garden Club member as well as a member of the St. Landry Baptist Church, where she served as a pianist.

Ola leaves behind her daughters, Stephanie Atkinson and husband Patrick of Burleson, Texas, Mitzi Stroup and husband Steve of Yukon Oklahoma, brother, Herbert Coates, Jr. and wife Gaynelle of Bayou Chicot and 2 grandchildren, Ashley Atkinson and Cammie Ducote.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Thomas and parents, Herbert and Carrie Young Coates, Sr.

All Arrangements are entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte, Louisiana.
