It is with great sadness that the family of Octavie Mary Tavie Berzas, 93, announces her passing on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Prairie Manor Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park with Father Gene Tremie as Celebrant.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Octavie will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Mary Velma Deville Miller of LaPlace, Marie Nazel Deville Hunt of Tyler, TX and Judith Faye Berzas Fontenot of Coppers Cove, TX one sister, Mary Lou Soileau Vidrine of Redell twenty seven grandchildren two great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She now joins in heaven her beloved husband, Avie T.V. Berzas parents, Ferdinand and Cora Lee Lafleur Soileau her brothers, Edward Soileau and Aswell Soileau and sisters, Verna Soileau Delafousse and Luna Soileau.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 5 pm to 10 pm, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 9 am to 10 pm. And again on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 8 am until time of Services. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 6 pm.
Pallbearers will be Herman Miller Jr., Cornel Miller, Jarret OPry, Ethan Millet, Burton Millet and Darren Miller. Honorary Pallbearers are Donovan Landreneau and Kevin Landreneau.
Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.
