VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church in Bayou Chicot on Monday, April 12, 2021 for Norma Jean Jagneaux, 80, who passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at her residence in Ville Platte.
Brother Wayne Holston will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in the Platin Cemetery.
Norma Jean Jagneaux was born on March 2, 1941 to John and Lour Vasseur Jagneaux in Mamou, Louisiana. Norma enjoyed spending her time in her yard tending to her flowers. Roses were her favorite flowers to grow. She also enjoyed having “afternoon coffee” with her family and friends. Norma’s greatest joy was that of taking care of her family and providing a loving home for them. She was a kindhearted and loving lady who will be greatly missed by many.
Norma is survived by her two daughters, Jeanise Elkins and husband, Jeff and Linda Lafleur and husband, Josh all of Ville Platte; one son, Kenneth Catoire and wife, Bridget of Ville Platte; six grandchildren, Jacob, Jared, Chris, Kerry, Matthew, and Tyler; and two step grandchildren, Danny and Danielle. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 16 great grandchildren, Lillian, Sophia, Marrisa, Maddox, Talan, Evan, Aiden, Raelyn, Kaylie, John Mason, Adalyn, Dayson, Jaiah, Jaden, Janie, and Ashton; and brother, Buren Jagneaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lour Vasseur Jagneaux; husbands, Joseph “J C” Catoire and Daniel Fontenot; brother, Rodney Jagneaux; and sisters, Geraldine Lafleur and Leanna Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place on Sunday, April 11, 2021 beginning at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
