VILLE PLATTE – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Nicholas Ted Johnson announces his passing on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the age of 37. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Chapel in St Landry at 2:00 PM. Father Gregory Downs will be Celebrant of the Mass and Deacon Ben Soileau will conduct graveside services at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Ville Platte.
Nicholas Ted Johnson was born in Ville Platte on February 3, 1985 to David and Tammy Johnson. Ted was a loving son, brother, grandson, Godfather, and friend. Ted was selfless, pure hearted, caring, and intelligent. He worked as a machinist at Cooper Cameron for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and friends, trying out new coffee shops, and eating at buffets. Ted had a special bond with his grandfather that can never be broken. No matter how tall he got, he could always look up to him. Ted’s relationship with his sister was one in a million. They loved each other unconditionally and had a connection that will never be broken. They always had each other’s back, no matter what. Ted met his girlfriend Christy just a few months ago, and although their time together on earth was very brief, there was no doubt in their minds that God sent them to each other. The love they shared was apparent to everyone around them.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, David and Tammy Johnson of Ville Platte; sister, Britney Herboldsheimer and husband, Richard of Pine Prairie; Godchildren, Demi and Jolie Herboldsheimer and Hunter Chautin; grandfather, Leroy Chautin of Ville Platte; Godfather, Scott Chautin and wife, Kathy of Minden; cousin, Spencer Chautin of Minden; step children, Abigail and Josiah Lambert of Church Point; and his girlfriend, Christy Smith of St. Martinville.
Ted now rests in Heaven with his maternal grandmother, Helen Jane Chautin; paternal grandmother, Mary Joyce Johnson; great grandparents, Agnes and
Lawrence Fontenot and Cleveland and Isabelle Chautin; and his Godmother, Sandra Chapman.
