Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Nelvin R. Bruno Fontenot, 75, will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 3:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Fr. Joshua Guillory will officiate the services.

Mr. Fontenot, a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Kady Fontenot of Ville Platte; two sons, Steven Bruno Fontenot and wife, Pat of Baton Rouge and Gordon Fontenot of Ville Platte; two daughters, Elaine Sonnier of Ville Platte and Debbie Fontenot Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Scott Sonnier who is presently serving in the U.S. Navy stationed in San Diego, Katie Fontenot and Joey Fontenot both of Baton Rouge.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Eva Fontenot; two brothers, Oswald Fontenot and Allen Bruce Fontenot; and one sister, Irene Fontenot.

Family request visiting hours be observed Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m.
