VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Nelson Joseph Meyer, 81, announces his passing on February 4, 2011 at Savoy Medical Center. Services will be held at the Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2011. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery. Pastor David Plunkett will officiate the services.
A loving father, brother, and grandfather, Nelson will be lovingly remembered by his four sons Wayne Meyer and wife Bonnie of Ville Platte, Ronald Meyer of Baton Rouge, Charles Meyer and wife Shirley of Eunice, and Keith Meyer of Ville Platte, his daughter Carla Meyer Matte and husband Dallas of Eunice, one brother Dudley Meyer and wife Jane of Ville Platte, two sisters Eunice Meyer Reed of Kansas City, Kansas and Betty Miller of Butte LaRose, thirteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
Nelson is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Ida Meyer, his brother Elroy Meyer, and two sisters Amy Savoy and Anora Meyer.
Family request that visiting hours be observed Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
