VILLE PLATTE- It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Neala Mae Sylvester Fontenot announces her passing on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the age of 87. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. Rite of Committal will follow in at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Father Blaine Clement will be celebrating the mass and conducting the funeral services.
Mrs. Neala's children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a very creative lady who spent many hours quilting and crocheting. Mrs. Neala was also very fond of the TV series The Golden Girls.
Her memories will live on through her family. She is survived by her son, William Ray Fontenot and wife Maria Jennie Fontenot; daughter, Wanda Ann Fontenot Bordelon and husband Douglas Eugene Bordelon; grandchildren, William R. Fontenot, Jr., Ryan Fontenot, Christian M. Bordelon, Jennie Bivona, Joseph Bivona and Giovanni Bivaona; great-grandchildren, Kasey A. Fontenot, Brittany Gaspard, Darian Gaspard, Joseph Bivona, Jr., Elizabeth Bivona, Giovanni Bivona, Jr., and Mary Bivona.
Mrs. Neala is now reunited in heaven with her husband, Eugene Hurst Fontenot; parents, George and Mattie Sylvester; and son, Rickie Fontenot.
