VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, for Nary Lee Joseph Hebert, 79, who passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Father Andrew Killeen will conduct funeral service and be celebrant of the Mass.

Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Nary Lee Joseph Hebert was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana on July 17, 1942, to George and Della Hebert. Nary owned and operated Nary Hebert Building Contractors.  He was a master carpenter and home builder.  He built many homes throughout South Louisiana.  Nary built his own smoke house and would smoke his own sausage and deer jerky.  He enjoyed making wine out of any type of fruit.  Every batch of wine he made turned out to be of excellent taste.  Nary loved playing a good game of poker or Bouree’.  He loved visiting his camps on Red River and Toledo Bend. This is where many family events were held, and many cherished memories were made.  Nary’s life revolved around his family, teaching them life skills, and always ensuring their happiness.  He never met at stranger, and he greeted everyone with a kind word and a friendly smile.   Nary was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. His family and friends will miss him greatly and will always hold onto their precious memories.

Nary is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, June Hebert; four sons, Greg Hebert and wife, Racheal, Walter Hebert and wife, Rosy, Keith Hebert and wife, Monica and Kelly Hebert and wife, Crystal; daughter, Tiffaney Lafleur and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Dustin Hebert, Lance Hebert, Logan Hebert, Johnathan Hebert, Josh Hebert, Makayla Manuel, Hanna Hebert, Kaleb Lafleur, Chase Lafleur, Justin Lafleur, Ethan Hebert, Cohen Hebert, Evan Hebert, Bentley Hebert, Alexis Ray, and  Jennifer Henry; fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Rickey Hebert; and sister, Elsie Deshotel, Audrey Vidrine, Elaine Collison, and Debbie Fontenot.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Della Brown Hebert.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 9:00 AM until time of service.  A rosary will be prayed in his honor on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM and will be led by Deacon Tim Donovan.
