VILLE PLATTEIt is with great sadness that the family of Myra L. Johnson, 97, announces her passing on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at her residence she spent her last hours surrounded by her beloved family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July14, 2011 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church
in Ville Platte where she was a long time, faithful member. Rite of Committal will follow at the Old Ville Platte Cemetery with Fr. Garrett McIntyre as Celebrant.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her eight grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and twenty nine greatgreat grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host other family and countless friends they will all miss her bright smile and quick wit. She lived a very full life, keeping herself busy by crocheting, sewing, quilting, playing pokeno, traveling and her favorite pass time: cooking Cajun dishes for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Johnson, her son. Gerald James Johnson, her daughter, Geraldine Johnson Martin, her parents, Durand and Lizo Lafleur, her brothers, Nelson Lafleur, Cliff Lafleur and Noah Lafleur and her sister Lana Lafleur Joubert.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte the parlor will open to the public Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 5:00 P.M. and remain open until 9:00 P.M. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M.
Visitation will continue Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
