Ville Platte It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Mr. Joe Doucet, Sr.,79, announces his passing on Saturday, February 2, 2013 he was surrounded by his devoted family when he left this world to join his Savior in the next. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Eternal Rest Cemetery in Ville Platte with Father Garrett McIntyre officiating the services.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Joseph leaves behind his beloved wife, Peggy G. Doucet and his three children: Joe Doucet, Jr. and his wife, Lorraine of Ville Platte, Nicholas Doucet and his wife, Rachelle of Covington, LA, and Veronica Doucet Manuel and her husband, Chad of Mamou. His legacy will be carried on by thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild they were the absolute light of his life.
He will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Nicholas and Eva Matte Doucet and his numerous brothers and sisters. They await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Doucet family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 9:00 AM Monday, February 4, 2013 until 10:00 PM and will resume at 8:00 AM Tuesday and continue until the time of the services. A Rosary will be recited in his honor at 6:00 PM Monday evening.
