VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Morine Rider Lafleur, 89, announces her passing on Friday, February 12, 2016. A Catholic Funeral Service will be celebrated Sunday, February 14 at 1:30 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Rider Cemetery in Ville Platte with Deacon Gene Lebouef officiating services.
A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Morine will be greatly missed by her son Michael Rider and wife Rennotta of Ville Platte and her daughter Betty Rider Mallet and husband Leonard of Lafayette. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her three sisters Alice Delafosse of Ville Platte, Mavis Ortego of Houma, and Theresa Knowblock of Groves, Texas, her ten grandchildren, and her 13 great grandchildren.
She now rests with her husband John Pierre Rider, Jr., parents Sevio and Amelia Catoire Fontenot, and two sons Winston Rider and James Aswell Rider.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Sunday, February 14, 2016 beginning at 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed in her honor Saturday evening at 6:00 PM.
