Ville Platte Funeral services for Marie Mayeaux, 74, will be held Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 3 p.m. in First Baptist Church in Chataignier. Burial will follow in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery. Rev. Gary Mitchell will officiate the services.

Marie, a resident of Ville Platte, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Eunice Manor Nursing Home.

A loving mother, sister, and grandmother she is survived by one son, Jerry Manuel of Zachary; six daughters, Dianne LeBleu of Ville Platte, Winnie Manuel of Ethel, La., Rebecca Stelly of Point Blue, Jackie Simmons of Centerville, Ms., Angela Ordoyne of Searcy, Ar., and Andrea Hudson of Point Blue; three brothers, Lee Guice of Kenner, Wallace North of Holden, Thomas Tommy North of Wallis, Tx.; three sisters, Clara Fay Howze of Livingston, La., Agnes North of Holden, and Rita Crocker of Walker; twenty grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Vorise Manuel; second husband, Howard Mayeaux, and her parents, Artie and Ruby LaCost.

Family request visiting hours be observed Friday, October 10, 2008 from 1 p.m. until time of services.
