VILLE PLATTE - Michael James Lanclow passed away Sunday morning surrounded by those that loved him at the age of 50. As said by his family, Michael had nine lives and he made the most out of all of them. He loved being outside in the fresh air and was a crazy fisherman who sometimes even caught one or two. Michael worked offshore starting at the bottom as a deckhand working his way up to the prestigious job of chief engineer. His passionate hobby was building bird houses of any size, although his children were afraid he would cut an arm or a finger off so he was only allowed to use a skill saw and drill. Michael loved working with his hands. He was always working on "something" even if it wasn't broken.
Michael's memory will live on through those he leaves behind including his fantastic daughters Lindsey Lanclow and Cheyenne Lanclow and companion Sidrick Allison, son Dustin Lanclow, grandchildren Damian, Kalie, Joshua, Brandon, Jr., and Gannon all of Ville Platte. Also left behind to mourn his absence are his caregiver, best friend, and former wife, Danielle Fontenot, brother John David Lanclos both of Ville Platte ,and sister Lauire Manuel of Pine Prairie.
He now rests in Heaven with his parents John Roy and Judy Fontenot Lanclow.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. Funeral services will be held in the Ardoin's Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kevin West officiating services. Michael will be laid to rest in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
