LAFAYETTE It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Wayne Bertrand, 44, announces his passing on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Belaire Cove Chapel in Ville Platte. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Father Garret McIntyre will officiate the services.
A loving father, son, brother and nephew, Michaels memory will be cherished by his only son, Matthew Bertrand of Yokosuka, Japan, his adoring parents, Morris and Bonnie Bertrand of Ville Platte, his brother and sister, Scott Bertrand and his wife, Nancy, of Brookfield, Conn. and Tabatha Landry and her husband, Bill, of Lafayette. He also leaves behind his aunt and uncle, Mary Anita and Donald Fontenot of Belaire Cove and Chris and Cindy Brown of Bayou Chicot. Michael served his country with great pride and honor as a member of The United States Marine Corps.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte beginning at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 26, 2011 until 10:00 PM that evening and again at 8:00 AM Thursday, October 27, 2011 until time of services.
