Funeral services for Mr. Mayance Hollier, 81, will be held Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 12pm in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery. Fr. Randy Moreau will officiate the services.
Mr. Hollier, a native of Leonville and a resident of LaPlace, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 12:58am at his residence. He also served in the US Navy in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hollier of LaPlace; one son, John Hollier of LaPlace; three daughters, Glenda Suffrin husband, Mike of LaPlace, Debbie Lipscomb husband, Johnnie of LaPlace, and Peggy Schilling husband, Wayne of Kenner; three brothers, Burke Hollier of Ville Platte, Tim Hollier of Lafayette, Elvin Hollier of Sunset; one sister, Armance Tate of Mamou; and four grandchildren, Taylor Provensal, Cara Hollier, Tyler Hollier, and Blake Schilling.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2pm-10pm and on Saturday from 8am until time of services. A rosary will recited at 7pm on Friday.
Mr. Hollier is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Adalaide Hollier
