Ville Platte Funeral services for Maxie Hartzfelds Ellis, 83, will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 2pm in Friendship Baptist Church in Pine Prairie. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery in Bayou Chicot. Rev. Ervin Goodman will officiate the services.

Ms. Ellis, died Monday, November 26, 2007 at 7:30pm in the Opelousas General Health System.

Survivors include a daughter, Jesserene Dinger of Opelousas; two brothers, Tom L. Hartzfelds, Sr. of Ville Platte and R.C. Andrus of Oakdale; one sister, Eloise Henry of Pine Prairie; a granddaughter-in-law, Julie Methvin of Pineville; two great grandchildren, John Roy Griffith and Leslie Anne Griffith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Ellis; parents, John F. and Buena Hartzfelds; a grandson, Kent Griffith; and a sister, Sylvia Ruby Hartzfelds Ellis.

Visitation will be held in Friendship Baptist Church in Pine Prairie beginning Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 10am until 10pm and on Thursday from 10am until time of services.
