Murphy, Co., Miss Siffert continued to manage stores in Lafayette, Alexandria, Hammond, and Thibodeaux. She retired in the 1980s to live near her family in St. Landry, where she continued to enjoy gardening, reading, word search puzzles, pokeno, piecing quilt tops, and trips to the casinos.
