Ville Platte It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mary J. Fontenot announces her passing on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Savoy Medical Center at the age of 66. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
A loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mary will be lovingly remembered by her son, Joseph R. Fontenot, Jr. and wife, Jessica of Vidrine her daughter, Victoria L. Fontenot Sylvester and her husband, Scott of Bayou Chicot one brother, Perry J. Guillory of Bayou Chicot four sisters, Valerie Leger of Opelousas, Barbara Lafleur of Mamou, Linda Daigle and Connie Guillory both of Ville Platte nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Joseph Roland Fontenot, Sr. a son, Joseph Michael Fontenot and a daughter, Shanta Fontenot Cazes.
At the request of the family visiting hours will be observed Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
