Ville Platte - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Effie Fontenot, 89, will be held Friday, July 13, 2007 at 4pm in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery. Fr. Gene Tremie will officiate the services.

Mrs. Fontenot, a resident of Ville Platte, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 in Ville Platte Medical Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jack Gloria Fontenot Aucoin and Mrs. Joe Sandra Fontenot Monier both of Ville Platte; four grandchildren, Marcus Aucoin, Melanie Fusilier, Chuck Monier, and Katra Monier and nine great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson C. Fontenot; parents Semilien and Estelle Deshotel; a grandson, Todd Monier; and a sister, Nita D. Fontenot.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 3pm until 10pm and on Friday from 8am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:30pm Thursday.
