VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Betty George Brasseaux, 73, announces her passing on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Chataignier. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery with Father Darin Eldridge Celebrant.
A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Betty George will be sadly missed by her four daughters Leshia Matherne and husband Jimmy of Ville Platte, Tammy Guidry and soninlaw Brian of Ville Platte, Carla Champagne and husband Danny of Carencro, and Melissa Aymond and husband Gregory of Chataignier, one stepdaughter Melissa Ann Briley and husband Jim of Ville Platte, four stepsons Daniel Brasseaux and wife Jamaine, Russell Brasseaux, John Brent Brasseaux and wife Gerise, and Darrell Brasseaux all of Chataignier, one sister Jane Mae Bourgeois of Carencro, 28 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
She now joins in heaven her husbands Robert George, Sr. and Moise Brasseaux, her parents Mayance and Agnes Berzas, her son Robert Butch George, Jr., and her grandchild John Eric Brasseaux.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 until time of services. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM.
