Ville Platte - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mary Louise Balfer at Our Lady Queen of All Saints on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Father Mitchell Guidry will officiate the service. A rosary will prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016. Inturnment will follow at Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Ms. Balfer, age 88, a resident of Ville Platte, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 in Baton Rouge.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 and continue all night until service time at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016.
Mary was a devout member of The Catholic Daughters. She loved to bake and spend time with her family. Ms. Balfer will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Mobley and her husband James and Joy Green; grandchildren, Belinda Soileau, Scotty Mobley, Angela Lock, Larry Gene Balfer, Jr., Chris Balfer, Kevin Balfer, Cherie Balfer, Bridget Bonnette, Samuel Balfer, Jason Green and Jacob Green; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Adam Balfer; parents, Azy and Emily Vidrine Fontenot; sons, Larry Gene Balfer, Sr. and Ray Adam Balfer; brothers, Ulysse Fontenot and John Roy Fontenot; and great-grandchild, Kristen Richard.
Arrangements are entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte, La.
